Full Circle – Steven Schwartz Looks Back at a Lifetime in Law

Steven Schwartz considers himself a lucky person, because he’s spent a career doing exactly what he always wanted.

“Some people, when they’re young, they have a dream of what kind of profession or job they would like to have when they grow up,” he told BusinessWest. If he had forgotten his childhood dreams, he was reminded when his parents were moving and uncovered a paper he had written in the sixth grade at Washington School in Springfield.

9th Annual Stock Market Challenge

Attorneys Steve Weiss, Michael Fenton, Michele FeinsteinCarol Klyman and L. Alexandra Hogan attended the 9th Annual Stock Market Challenge at the Mass Mutual Center on November 13, 2014. Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C. was a sponsor to the event which educates students from Kindergarten to 12th grade about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workplace readiness. The MassMutual Center is turned into the New York Stock Exchange with big screens and stock brokers standing by to trade.  In the simulation, a trading day lasts 60 seconds. In 60 intense trading days, teams compete to achieve the highest rate of return on their $1,000,000 investment in fictitious stocks.  

While Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C did not place first, they did receive a 60% return on investments which was considered a huge success. You can read more on the event here.

Feinstein to present with WNE Dean of Law, Eric Gouvin and WNE Professor Robert Sachten Nov. 18

Local law firm, Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., serving Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, today announced that Partner Michele J. Feinstein will be one of three presenters – including Eric Gouvin, dean of law, and Robert Statchen, assistant clinical professor of law from Western New England University – to speak on “Avoiding the Most Common Small Business Legal Mistakes” at the Business Growth Center, Tuesday, Nov. 18. Last month she was speaker for the Massachusetts Bar Association on estate planning at Western New England University and “A Woman’s Guide to Financial Fitness,” an Elms College event.
