Local attorney, David K. Webber, Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C. shareholder named to Massachusetts Bar Association’s 2017 Business Law Council

Local law firm Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., serving Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, today announced Shareholder David K. Webber was selected to the 2017 Business Law Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA). Incorporated in 1911, the MBA is a nonprofit organization that serves the legal profession and public by promoting the administration of justice, legal education, professional excellence and respect of the law. Section councilors, selected for their reputation for professional excellence and subject matter expertise, are appointed to yearlong terms during which they will meet to discuss and impact substantive issues affecting law across the Commonwealth.

News of Attorney Webber’s appointment came by way of a certified letter from the President-Elect of the MBA, Christopher P. Sullivan. Webber’s first order of business—an orientation session Wednesday in Randolph, Massachusetts.

“I am honored to serve with other esteemed attorneys from across the state,” said Attorney Webber. “I intend to use my position to raise awareness of the excellent business environment in Western Massachusetts and to improve our connections to the rest of the Commonwealth. I will also use this opportunity to share the latest developments in business law with our corporate clients, and the Hampden County Bar Association.”

Attorney Webber concentrates his practice in the areas of closely held business, corporate law, real estate, trusts and estates, and bankruptcy. He has been selected a Super Lawyers Rising Star in the field of closely held business, yearly since 2012. Highlights of his corporate work include assisting startups and entrepreneurs, representation of sellers in stock and asset sales, and negotiation and drafting of contracts of all kinds. He has extensive experience in seller-side due diligence and coordination of complex transactions including asset sales, bankruptcy sales, and real estate. He frequently works with high net worth clients and their advisors in estate planning and probate matters.

Attorney Webber holds a J.D. from the Western New England University School of Law, where he interned with Justice Francis X. Spina at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and a B.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts.
