Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., proudly announces that shareholder Steven Weiss has been selected to the 2026 Massachusetts Super Lawyers® list in the area of Business Bankruptcy Law. This milestone recognition marks the 20th time he has earned this distinction, highlighting his long-standing expertise and leadership in the field.
A resident of Longmeadow, Attorney Weiss concentrates his practice on commercial and consumer bankruptcy, reorganization and litigation. He supervises the firm’s bankruptcy, reorganization and workout practice, representing creditors, debtors and other parties in both commercial and consumer bankruptcy cases throughout Massachusetts. He has served on the Standing Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the District of Massachusetts since 1987 and is also appointed to the Subchapter V panel of Chapter 11 trustees for Region 1.
Attorney Weiss is president of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and serves on the organization’s board of directors. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. In addition to his Super Lawyers recognition, Attorney Weiss has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2013 and was named Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in 2026.
Attorney Weiss has contributed to the local community as chair of the Longmeadow Community Preservation Committee since 2012 and as a member of the Longmeadow Historical Commission.
