Schwartz co-founded Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin in 1969 after beginning his career as a legal services attorney. Over the years, he built a practice concentrating in family business planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and estate planning. He has guided generations of family-owned and closely held businesses through succession planning, exit strategies, strategic growth and major transactions, often serving as a trusted advisor at pivotal moments in their histories.
In addition to his legal practice, Schwartz has played an active role in civic and philanthropic work. He is a past recipient of the Distinguished Advisor in Philanthropy Award from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, His community involvement includes service with William J. Gould Associates, Inc., the Pioneer Valley Council Boy Scouts of America, the Berkshire Hatchery Foundation among others.
