Attorney Alexandra Hogan  lectured on the topic of “Massachusetts Data Security Law, Compliance and Confusion” with Marco Liquori, president of Net Logix, Inc. of Westfield, at the 48th Annual Tax Institute seminar held recently at the Western New England College.

Attorney Alexandra Hogan  lectured on the topic of “Massachusetts Data Security Law, Compliance and Confusion” with Marco Liquori, president of Net Logix, Inc. of Westfield, at the 48th Annual Tax Institute seminar held recently at the Western New England College. Attorney Hogan and Mr. Liquori’s presentation focused on the new law and compliance requirements Massachusetts businesses must have in place to protect their client s’ and customers’ personal information . The presentation was particularly timely in that the new law takes effect March 1, 2010. Attorney Hogan provided an overview of the law and guidelines for compliance, including a comprehensive , written information security program, and covered what constitutes a security breach, what to do when a security breach has occurred, and how the new law will affect Massachusetts business owners. With the new year just a few weeks away Attorney Hogan and Mr. Liquori have been educating business owners and their professional advisors in the Pioneer Valley to ensure they meet the deadline for compliance with the new law.
