Four Attorneys Selected to Super Lawyers 2014 Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts List

Michele J. Feinstein, L. Alexandra Hogan (Alex), Carol Cioe Klyman and Ann I. Weber (Ami) have been selected to the Super Lawyers Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts list. Attorney Klyman and Attorney Weber have been selected to the 2014 Top 50 Women list.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Local law firm Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., serving Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, today announced Michele J. Feinstein, L. Alexandra Hogan (Alex), Carol Cioe Klyman and Ann I. Weber (Ami) have been selected to the Super Lawyers Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts list. Attorney Klyman and Attorney Weber have been selected to the 2014 Top 50 Women list. Women attorneys on the top list have been selected to the 2014 Massachusetts Super Lawyers list and ranked top of the list in the Super Lawyers selection process.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Super Lawyers Magazine features the list and profiles of selected attorneys and is distributed to attorneys in the state or region and the ABA-accredited law school libraries. Attorney Michele J. Feinstein, a shareholder in Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., and lifelong resident of Longmeadow, concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, elder law, probate litigation, health law, corporate and business planning, including all aspects of planning for the succession of business interests, representation of closely held businesses and their owners, and representation of physicians in their individual and group practices. She is a cum laude graduate of the Western New England University School of Law where she was a member of the Law Review (1984) and Boston University, where she first earned her Bachelor of Science summa cum laude (1981) and later a Master of Laws in taxation (1990). Attorney Feinstein has received many professional recognitions, including repeated selection to the Super Lawyers of Massachusetts and Top Women Attorneys of New England and Best Lawyers® in America. She was named a Top Women of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (2014) – the only attorney in the western Massachusetts region to be so honored.

Attorney L. Alexandra Hogan (Alex), a resident of Chicopee, concentrates her practice primarily in business, litigation and bankruptcy law. She graduated from Western New England University School of Law in 2008 with cum laude honors and from Bay Path University with summa cum laude honors in 1996. Attorney Hogan has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and a Top Women Attorney (2011-2014). Additionally, she was recognized by Junior Achievement as a 2012 recipient of the Gold Peak Performance Award and included in the BusinessWest 40 Under Forty Award program, class of 2013.

Shareholder Carol Cioe Klyman, a resident of Westhampton, concentrates her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, special needs trust planning, estate settlement, guardianships, trust and estates litigation, and MassHealth appeals. She is versed in all aspects of estate administration, including representation in the probate courts, preparation of estate tax and gift tax returns, and Internal Revenue Service estate and gift tax audits. Her work with individuals with disabilities includes collaborating with professional advisors such as accountants and other attorneys to craft estate plans targeted to the client’s specific needs as well as with personal injury attorneys to structure plans for settlement proceeds and jury awards. Attorney Klyman graduated magna cum laude from Western New England University School of Law (1996) and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island (1975). She was elected a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates Council (2010) and has been recognized as a leader in the law by selection to the Super Lawyers list (2005-2014), Top Women Attorneys (2005-2014) and Best Lawyers® in America list (2006-2015).

Attorney Ann I. Weber (Ami), is a shareholder at the law firm of Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C. She was formerly employed by the Internal Revenue Service and clerked at the Probate Court in West Hartford, Conn. She is a resident of Granville and concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, probate and elder law. She has a particular interest in creative estate planning for authors and artists, farmers and landowners as well as federal and Massachusetts estate tax planning. She has written extensively on estate planning, elder law, and estate administration and lectures frequently to professional and non-professional groups. She is also well-recognized for her professional achievements, having been elected a fellow of the American College of Estate and Trust Council and to the Super Lawyers list (2004-2014), Top 50 Women Attorneys in Massachusetts (2007, 2012-2014) and Best Lawyers® in America (2004-2015).
