Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., announced that Attorney Michael A. Fenton has been selected to the Super Lawyers® Massachusetts 2025 Rising Stars list in the area of Business and Corporate Law. This marks his 12th consecutive year receiving the Rising Stars honor, which recognizes exceptional attorneys who demonstrate significant professional achievement early in their careers.
A shareholder at the firm and Springfield resident, Attorney Fenton concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, business planning, commercial finance and estate planning. He is a graduate of Western New England University School of Law, where he also earned his MBA, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Providence College.
Attorney Fenton has been named to the Rising Stars list every year from 2014–2025. He was also recognized as a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Go To Lawyer for Commercial Real Estate in 2023, and has been recognized with numerous other honors. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.
Beyond his legal practice, Attorney Fenton has served on the Springfield City Council since 2010 and is currently council president. He is an adjunct professor at Western New England University School of Law, where he teaches corporate finance, and remains active with several community and civic organizations. His thought leadership has been featured in presentations for the Hampden County Bar Association, the Community Progress Leadership Institute at Harvard Law School and the Supreme Judicial Court Youth Corps.
Rising Stars selections undergo the same rigorous multiphase evaluation used for Super Lawyers®, with no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state earning the distinction. Eligible attorneys must be 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
