Attorney Steven Weiss to speak at 28th Annual Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Conference in Boston on May 24

Regional law firm, Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin, P.C., serving clients throughout western New England and New York, as well as nationally and internationally, today announced shareholder Steven Weiss will be a speaker at the 28th Annual Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Conference at the Omni Parker House in Boston on Thursday, May 24, from 3–6 p.m.

Attorney Weiss will be part of a panel discussion about fraudulent transfer cases, including whether or not college tuition and student loan payments are recoverable as fraudulent transfers in the bankruptcy case of a student’s parents, and when the Ponzi Scheme presumption applies. He will be joined by the Hon. Joan N. Feeney and Hon. Elizabeth Katz, both from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, as well as two Boston attorneys.

A resident of Longmeadow, Attorney Weiss concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and consumer bankruptcy, reorganization and litigation. He supervises the firm’s bankruptcy, reorganization and workout practice, and represents creditors, debtors, and others in both commercial and consumer bankruptcy cases throughout Massachusetts.
Attorney Weiss is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law (1984). He has been recognized for his legal success by selection to the Super Lawyers list (2007–2017) and Best Lawyers® in America (2013–2018). He has been on the panel of Chapter 7 trustees since 1987 and maintains active memberships in the Hampden County and Massachusetts Bar Associations, American Bankruptcy Institute and National Association of Bankruptcy.
