Having been named to The Best Lawyers in America list again, Attorney Klyman, a Westhampton resident, has earned her place as one of the most respected attorneys in western Massachusetts. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Western New England University School of Law with magna cum laude honors after she graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. Since beginning her legal career with the firm 25 years ago, Attorney Klyman has concentrated her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, special needs planning, estate administration, guardianships, trust and estate litigation and MassHealth appeals.
Attorney Klyman is active in educating the legal community and the public, having served as an adjunct professor of elder law at Western New England University School of Law and lectured on tax, elder law and estate planning topics at the local, state and national levels for professional and civic organizations. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates Council and the American Bar Foundation, and an active member of the national and Massachusetts chapters of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Attorney Klyman has authored chapters on tax issues related to elder law practice in the three-volume Estate Planning for the Aged and Incapacitated Client in Massachusetts, the leading elder law treatise in Massachusetts published by MCLE. She is immediate editor emeritus of the NAELA Journal, the peer-reviewed publication of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and was co-editor of the Massachusetts Elder Law Sourcebook and Citator, last published in 2018.
