Local law firm Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin P.C., with offices in Springfield and Northampton, today announced that Attorney Stephen L. Sobey has been recognized in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” for his work in Trusts and Estates. This marks his second consecutive year receiving the recognition.
A resident of Springfield, Attorney Sobey joined the firm in 2017 and concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration and elder law. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He earned his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University.
Attorney Sobey is active in professional and community organizations, including the Massachusetts Bar Association, where he serves on the Elder Law Advisory Committee and the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He also serves as chair of the board of directors of Viability, Inc., and on the human rights committee of Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries.
In addition to his Best Lawyers recognition, Attorney Sobey has been selected to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Stars list every year since 2021. He is a graduate of the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has published articles on elder law and estate planning and contributed to continuing legal education programs in Massachusetts.
