Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin P.C. announced that shareholder Attorney Steven Weiss has been selected for inclusion in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for his work in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.
This marks the 15th consecutive year Weiss has been recognized by Best Lawyers. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2013 and was named Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” in Springfield for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in 2026.
A resident of Longmeadow, Weiss supervises the firm’s bankruptcy, reorganization and workout practice, representing creditors, debtors and others in commercial and consumer bankruptcy cases throughout Massachusetts. He has been a member of the standing panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the District of Massachusetts since 1987.
Weiss currently serves as president of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and as a member of the organization’s board of directors. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Hampden County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
In addition to his legal practice, Weiss has contributed to the local community as chair of the Longmeadow Community Preservation Committee since 2012 and as a member of the Longmeadow Historical Commission. He was also recently recognized for the 20th year on the Massachusetts Super Lawyers® list.
