Practice Area
Attorney Lina Alexandra Hogan (“Alex”) concentrates her practice primarily in business, litigation and bankruptcy law. She graduated from Western New England University of Law in 2008 with cum laude honors and from Bay Path College with summa cum laude honors in 1996. Attorney Hogan was appointed an Assistant Editor and is a published author of the Western New England Law Review.
Her practice has focused on a variety of business matters including: formation; contract preparation and negotiations; acquisitions and sales; liquor license acquisitions and transfers; loans and refinancing; zoning and land use matters; foreclosures and workouts.
Attorney Hogan has represented business and individual clients in various litigations matters including: contract disputes; state and federal receiverships; evictions; zoning appeals; disputes between partners and shareholders of closely held businesses; commercial collection; probate litigation; civil rights; and appeals.
While Attorney Hogan strives to find alternatives to bankruptcy, as it is an option of last resort, she has an extensive bankruptcy practice that includes both debtor and creditor representation in individual and business cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11. Additionally, Attorney Hogan acts as counsel to Chapter 7 Trustee, Steven Weiss, in bankruptcy litigation advanced in adversary proceedings.

Attorney Hogan has been selected as a 2011 Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star in the areas of business litigation and bankruptcy. Rising Stars are the top up-and-coming attorneys in the Commonwealth. Only the top 2.5% of Massachusetts lawyers who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing for 10 years or fewer are recognized as Rising Stars.
